Creativity: The essential
part of Smart Education
“The Principal goal of
education is to create individual who are capable of doing new things, not
simply of repeating what other generation have done”
Creativity is doing something different. Our school systems need to need change better according to
the pace of the world. Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “We cannot build the
future for our youth—but we can build our youth for the future.” It is our duty
to do whatever we can to help our students connect learning with real life and
to provide them with the necessary skills to prepare them for success. In past
decade, the concept of education was to master the “Three Rs” .But In the modern “flat world,” the “Three Rs”
changed in to “Four Cs”. Today’s students want to compete in this global
society; however, they must also be proficient communicators, creators,
critical thinkers, and collaborators (the “Four Cs”). Our education system must
simultaneously prepare the citizens of tomorrow while equipping our students
with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in a rapidly changing
economy and society. The students
should be encouraged to challenge themselves at new levels and in new
experiences, as well as to prepare themselves for future choices in their lives
and in their communities.
Modern education system
must change according to the need of the hour. For that schools and educators
should prepare themselves for accepting the new trends in the education field.
New education system must focus the new trends such as;
- a. Creativity
- b. Character Education
- c. Critical Thinking
- d. Collaborative learning
- e. Constructivism
- f.
Differentiated learning
- g. Digital education
- h. Inquiry based learning etc, etc…..
How creativity lead to smart Education? ...........

The right
mix of creativity along with curriculum helps
students to be innovative and also encourages them to learn new things. Every child is born with artistic sensibilities. A student
who grows up with an artistic sensibility sees at the world from different
perspective. This sensitivity actually moulds his behavior, his interpersonal
communication, and his actions. Artistic
sensibilities are to be nourished and encouraged at home, at school and
ultimately, the society has to do. Students need to be thinkers, be
problem-solvers, demonstrate creativity, and work as a member of a team.
Creativity will help the students to
- Learn the facts easily
- Memories the concepts
- Connecting the ideas with learning concepts
- Become problem solver
- Emotional stability
- Increase thinking stability
- Reduce stress
- Better communication etc…..
o Creativity is a valuable skill.. When we encourage creativity in our students, we’re
preparing them to find solutions in their life. So educators actively plan for students
and help them to improve their creative skill. Teachers and school leaders continue to see the development
of creativity as an essential part of their job. There are
many highly creative teachers in our schools and many schools where creative
approaches to teaching and learning are encouraged.
In short, creativity plays a vital role in 21st century education.
Teachers and schools have to create an
environment where creativity is generated. Teachers have to use of 21st century
skills in imparting education in visual and performing arts and make classes
more lively and dynamic.
